Description
John Chatham Cars Has the pleasure to offer this beautifully prepared Austin Healey 3000 Mk2 BT7 Fast road/Rally car for sale. This Mk2 BT7 was originally delivered to Paris France on 6th October 1961. The Early history of this car is believed to have been exported in late 1961 to Canada where it competed in the Canadian Winter Rally. Sadly there is no paperwork that supports this but was mentioned in an article. The car was re-imported back to the UK and converted to RHD when well-known Historic rally Champion Paul Howcroft bought the car In the late 80sHe commissioned renowned Rally preparer Bob Brain to commission a full and extensive rebuild on the car to its current spec it is today. This intention was for Paul to enter the car in the Historic rally championship, which he did with great success. The car stands today in the same spec that Paul ran the car so would be a perfect candidate for historic rally events, used as a fast road car or even converted to a FIA race car. Even though this was a rally car the underside is in excellent condition highlighting the overall appearance.
The spec is as follows
- Full aluminium panels.
- Full roll cage
- Factory Hardtop
- Spot lamps with brackets.
- Tulip straight-cut gearbox.
- Fast road engine with aluminium cylinder head.
- Tripple webers.
